Part-time Research Associate

The Department of Psychology at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.5FTE) Research Associate for up to ten months. The ideal candidate would have strong statistical skills to work on the project validating a novel measure of wonder in school children and teachers. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting children aged 9-11 and teachers in Grades 5 and 6 from the database of schools and social media; carrying out data collection using online Qualtrics-based measures; cleaning, coding and analysing the data; and assisting with pre-registering the study and subsequently co-authoring a manuscript for publication. 


The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to demonstrate strong data management and analysis skills
  • Be proficient in using RStudio
  • Have experience with questionnaire development and psychometrics research practices

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.

The Psychology Department is a busy teaching and research active Department.  It is home to a friendly group of over 40 Academic staff, with teams of Research and Professional Services and Technical staff.   The Department supports a large cohort of Undergraduate students; a thriving group of Masters and Postgraduate research students; and a wide range of research projects including several cross-institution grants.
